Welcome to Openwsman

Openwsman is a project intended to provide an open-source implementation of the Web Services Management specification (WS-Management) and to expose system management information on the Linux operating system using the WS-Management protocol. WS-Management is based on a suite of web services specifications and usage requirements that exposes a set of operations focused on and covers all system management aspects.

The openwsman project is maintained by Intel's Open-Source Technology Center.

Web Services for Management

WS-Management addresses the cost and complexity of IT management by providing a common way for systems to access and exchange management information across the entire IT infrastructure. By using Web services to manage IT systems, deployments that support WS-Management will enable IT managers to remotely access devices on their networks - everything from silicon components and hand-held devices to PCs, servers and large-scale data centers. WS-Management is the first specification in support of the DMTF initiative to expose CIM resources via a set of Web services protocols.

Latest Release is 1.5.1
